It’s amazing what 14 hours in an airtight metal container 20,000 feet above the ground can do to you. This transitory world prepares you for your destination.
I remember my first flight back home from New York and the feeling that accompanied it. I still get the same feeling everytime I land in Mumbai after a trip abroad. The area surrounding the airport is so much in contrast to places like Tokyo, New York, LA, Frankfurt you feel you have gone back in time somehow. It’s almost like a reverse cultural shock! Can people live like that?! From the approach path that the aircraft takes as it prepares to land, Mumbai looks like an anthill as opposed to a big city.
But home’s home after all. And I’m glad to be back.
